D-Back Rookie All Stars Upset #1 seed Toronto !!!
Submitted By Ancaster Baseball on Thursday, June 29, 2017
D-Backs Rookie All Stars come up just short in West Hill.  Outstanding play!!

The boys went 3 and 2 this past weekend in Scarbourough finishing pool play 2 and 1.

Ancaster secured victories over Toronto Playgrounds Jr, and Richmond Hill before dropping a game to Markham pushing them in to the semi finals as a second seed against the #1 seed Toronto Playgrounds SR.  In the Semi Finals, a slow Start did the team no favours down 6 early, the team rallied with outstanding defence.  Tying the game and taking the lead by the 5th inning.  Defence was outstanding as the boys held the opposition scoreless in a tie game through the sixth, seventh and 8th innings setting up a walk off single in the bottom of the eighth!!
Lightning, Rain and hail caused delays and a venue change, Ancaster fell to a strong Sudbury team in the championship.

Ancaster heads to the Lloyd McConnie Memorial tournament in Etobicoke in two weeks and is anxious for more success...
